Abstract

Currently, maggot cultivation has been widely practiced, but it is still traditionally done by putting maggot caterpillars in a box, feeding them and leaving them alone. Maggot farmers often ignore temperature and humidity control in maggot cultivation, even though it greatly affects the development of maggot caterpillars. This study aims to design a temperature control system tool, humidity in maggot caterpillar cultivation cages using the NodeMCU ESP8266 microcontroller In testing the tool as a whole for 7 days where data is taken every 3 hours starting from 06.00- 21.00, the average temperature in the cage is 30.31OC and the average humidity is 69.34% and the percentage error on the tool is 0%. Maggot caterpillars that grow in the cultivation house are much faster than maggots that grow conventionally. This can be seen on day 7, maggots living in the cultivation house have a size of 0.5-1.3 cm while maggots living conventionally have a size of 0.5-1.1 cm.
